Women on the move: Gender perspective of migration flows and geopolitical responses

More people are on the move than ever before and women make up almost half of the 244 million migrants and half of the 19.6 million refugees worldwide.
However, the needs, priorities, and voices of these women are often missing from policies designed to protect and assist them.
Our conference will look into the relationship between migration and gender. We will explore the determinants of female migration, the impact of migration on women’s empowerment and their human rights, as well as gender-specific experiences of migration.
