Online Conference, Tuesday, 4 May 2021, 09:30-13:00 CET via Zoom
It took us a global pandemic to realise that we depend on care. But despite all the clapping, care workers continue to work in precarious and vulnerable conditions.
FEPS, together with its member foundations, keeps closely monitoring the EU gender equality policy agenda focusing particularly on its care dimensions. Find out more here about #Care4Care project!
The conference was organised by the European Public Service Union (EPSU) together with FEPS, the Friedrich-Ebert Stiftung (FES), Kommunal and Arena Idé.
At the event we launched the report 'On the Corona Frontline' - by FES, Arena Idé and Kommunal - on the experience of workers in long-term care during COVID-19. The report highlights the heroic efforts of care workers as well as the importance of trade unions during the pandemic. It addresses the need for well-funded public care services with good working conditions and sufficient staffing.
