The European Green Deal: Means to Deliver

Expert seminar (Invitation only)

The European Green Deal will be one of the initiatives that define the course of this European legislature. Most importantly, it is a large-scale policy that have the potential to deliver a better future to Europeans.

Now more than ever, inputs from scholars, experts and practitioners are valuable to instruct policymaking in the different policy areas that the Green Deal will revise: climate policy, industrial policy, investment policy, tax policy, etc.

To promote an open reflection on the different policy developments linked to the European Green Deal agenda, FEPS is partnering on this occasion with the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP), the Renner Institute and the Austrian Chamber of Labour (AK) to organise a half day co-thinking session.

Two inputs will serve as basis for the discussion and will circulate prior to the meeting:

1) A draft policy paper by FEPS and IEEP that looks at the inter-generational, the intra-country, and the inter-country angle of the European Green Deal.

 2) A draft project idea by FEPS, Renner Institute and the AK to analyse the fiscal feasibility of a public investment initiative for the climate emergence.

Small roundtable discussion will give the opportunity to gather inputs, suggestions and identify gaps that can help strengthen and refine policy proposals for an impactful Green Deal.
