New Multilateralism and the Role of the European Union

This is a closed event

In 2020, the United Nations will discuss the reform of the multilateral system and the EU will define its external agenda for the next five years. The European progressive family has a particular historical responsibility to shape this debate and has key representatives in high-level positions in Europe and the world to aid this cause.

In the frame of the project entitled NEW MULTILATERALISM AND THE ROLE OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, the online expert meeting on 4 May will connect progressive policymakers and high-level experts from Europe and the world and will encourage a constructive debate on progressive solutions to global challenges in the areas of: health, finance, social issues, Social Development Goals, digitalisation, climate and security, economy and trade, migration and asylum as well as peace & security.

The project is organised by the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) in cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung New York Office (FES NY), Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), the Foundation Jean Jaurès (FJJ), the Centro Studi di Politica Internazionale (CeSPI), and the Fundación Pablo Iglesias.
