The impact of COVID-19 pandemic crisis on European public opinion - FEPS & FES roundtable

Zoom meeting, Tuesday 22 June 2021, 14:00 - 15:30 CET

On Tuesday 22 June 2021, FEPS and FES brought forward during this sneak peek event the first results of a 6 countries-wide survey regarding changing citizens' attitudes in the times of pandemic. The survey and the report were commissioned in fall 2020 – amidst the second wave of COVID-19 hitting all across the world.

This survey has been completed by Instituto Cattaneo (with help of Dynata) and has acquired answers in Sweden, Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain and France with a large sample (1000 respondents per each of them).

The wide focus of the survey allowed us to take a deep look into issues such as trust in institutions, approval for state’s policies in COVID, but also aspects such as a belief in conspiracy theories. After a series of national roundtable events, the European Roundtable was the opportunity to present and discuss the findings with the European stakeholders, ahead of the second wave of the survey scheduled for the Winter 2021.
