Towards an individual right to adult learning for all Europeans

30 November 2021

Ahead of the publication of the European Commission’s proposal on individual learning accounts on the 8th December, we aimed to feed the discussions on these schemes and highlighted the importance of lifelong learning to ensure EU citizens are resilient and fit to take full advantage of the digital and labour market transitions coming their way.

The study on individual learning accounts was presented by authors Sofia Fernandes and Klervi Kerneis. Minister Tuula Haatainen, Finnish Minister of Employment, European Commissioner for jobs and social rights Nicolas Schmit and Ms Alicia Homs Ginel, Member of the European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (S&D), discussed the strategy to implement the European Commission's proposal.
