The vast electoral exercise of 2019 General Elections in India cannot be adequately followed given the much diversity found in a population of 1.3 billion. The main contenders are the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress and the plentitude of so-called regional parties which mostly have a substantial presence in one state.
The BJP leads a presidential campaign, in which Narendra Modi is the main and big attraction. He is towering all his opponents with regard to popularity.
