Solidarity – as the reason to fight climate change has always been the central point for our debates on climate change and energy policies. This has largely been studied through “The New Social Contract: A Just Transition” publication launched together with Change Partnership in 2016. Our current work continues to build on this. Additionally we have also been looking at climate diplomacy, food waste and a gendered-approach to climate change policy more closely.
Our reflections are based on the environmental need for cleaning up our planet, but also as a social and economic need. It is the most vulnerable groups of people in society who will be affected most either by climate change impacts directly, or by the Transition to a decarbonised society.
The next 30 years will be crucial in determining how we achieve this and therefore progressive implementation policies taking into account the Paris agreement and SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) is fundamental.
FEPS is carrying out a cycle of events with various partners, in different places on Next Environment. Please see our events section for more details.
